A Portrait of Tim Henman O.B.E.

Even if you’re not a tennis fan, most of us in the UK will know Tim Henman O.B.E, and so it was a privilege to be able to photograph some portraits of him.

Tim is refreshing for someone of his standing in that he has zero social media, and so it’s not common for him to do a headshot session like this. Luckily for me he said yes.

I felt a black and white edit here with a touch of grain added in post worked well with his black shirt and white backdrop, and the pose he naturally went into seemed to suit the shot perfectly.

During headshot photography shoots with me, I do tend to see how a subject settles into a pose naturally, rather than forcing an unnatural one that looks awkward. This then gets the shots we are all after. Tim has done plenty of TV work, but for most of us, standing in front of a camera is not something we do day in, day out. So the more natural and relaxed I make a photography session the better the end images will be.
