THE INDEPENDENTS: THE COUNTER RESTAURANT

Continuing with my photography project ‘The Independents’, exploring independent businesses in my town of Tunbridge Wells in Kent, and further afield. The Counter Restaurant in central Tunbridge Wells was next up to visit, to photograph a portrait of owner and head chef Robin Read.

Robin has a passion for sourcing local ingredients and this shows in his incredible tasting menus that he offers.

It’s a busy life running a restaurant so it was great for Robin to spare me a few moments to get some shots done. Photographed on the Mamiya RZ67 Proii medium format camera, shooting on Portra 400 and Tri-X films.
