THE PARAMEDICS
I’m fortunate to photograph people who do something they love, it’s a common ground, and so I guess that’s why I’m drawn to pursuing these kinds of photo shoots.
The South East Coast Ambulance Service, or SECAMB for short, got me down to their base in Paddock Wood in Kent, to photograph portraits of a couple of their crews before they went on shift.
We had just the hour to get the shots we wanted, which in the end proved just fine. It was the first outing for the incredible Fujifilm GFX medium format camera, for which I paired up with a 65mm prime lens from Mitakon.
It was lovely to hear first-hand about paramedic life and some stories they had to share. They truly are NHS heroes, and it was incredibly rewarding to be able to photograph some portraits for them.
