ROMNEY MARSH WOOLS

Springtime means lambing season, and so it meant the perfect time to head down to Romney in Kent to photograph Kristina at Romney Marsh Wools at their beautiful farm.

As a photographer I have the privilege of meeting such inspiring and hard-working independents, and Kristina and her husband Paul are no exception. A busy farm with 1,200 Romney ewes, and 150 merino Ewes, results in excpetional produce ranging from soft throws to hand soaps, all lovingly made in the UK.

It’s a beautiful part of the world Romney, huge flats spans of fields and waterways, and with that comes great light, so photographing around there is a dream.

The Leica M240 came out for the shoot along with 35mm and 50mm primes from Voigtlander, who really do make incredible lenses. I’ve said this before, but photographing on a rangefinder camera is such a great experience. But I’ll save the camera talk for another post!

Thanks to Kristina for her time (and also for letting me have a quick cuddle with one of the little lambs!).
